Summer Term 

Our class visited the local library in Rawmarsh. We had stories read to us, completed lots of fun craft activities, had a treasure hunt and learnt about the different books we can read and borrow in the library.

In Science we carried out a celery investigation using food colouring.

In Science we have been learning all about roots. We tasted spring onion and carrot then went out in our Forest School session to dig different types of roots to study these further.

In Science we have been learning all about different types of leaves and their function. In our Forest School session we explored the leaves on trees on our school site and brought these back into class to observe these further.

In Maths we have been learning about fractions and that they represent parts of a whole. We completed a 'hands on' fractions investigation using different manipulatives and visual representations to apply our learning to. 

In History we have been learning all about the Romans. We had a special visit from Rotherham Library Service who brought lots of artefacts for us to explore and learn about. We had fun and asked lots of questions to find out more.
